Любі друзі!
Бути художником - велике щастя i велика відповідальтсть.
Щастя,
тому що праця художника дарує нагороду в дивних годинах натхнення, в радощах творчості. Відповідальність, тому що божий
дар зобов' язує художника виразити
своє розуміння краси
та гармонії Cвітy, думки i почуття,
свою філософію життя.
Гадаю, що
жоден жанр не містить у co6i стількох виразних можливостей, скільки жанр
портрету. Мені пощастило писати портреты надзвичайних
людей, що становлять гордість i славу
нашої країни. У відображенні яскравості i богатства їх
неповторних особливостей i характерів
я бачу почесну
місію художника i громадянина.
Ось вже
двадцять років я пишу свої картини для вас, дорогі співвітчизники,i радію,
коли моя робота приносить радіс'ть вам, моїм глядачам.
Думаю, в світі немає
більш почесної i приємної долі.

is a great happiness and a great responsibility to he
an artist.
It is happiness because
the artistic labor harbors the prize in manielous
ours of inspiration and joy of creation. It is responsibility because
the artist is made to express his understanding of beauty and harmony of
the World, thoughts and feelings, the vital philosophy by the God's gift.
I consider no genre
contains as many expressive abilities as portrait genre do.
I had the luck to paint
portraits of outstanding people, who are the pride and glory of our
country. I see an honorable mission of an artist and citizen in the
reflection of brilliantness and richness of their personalities.
I have been painting my
pictures for you for twenty years, my dear contemporaries. I'm happy when my work brings gladness to my spectators.
I think there is no more
esteem and pleasant fate.
